‘Open Canvas’ brings art out in the open in San Francisco
Wanted to give our good friend and client Michael Krouse a shout-out in his latest artistic installation out in NOPA, a humorous but thought-provoking installation, called 1 Big Tree, 1000 Little Trees, where he placed thousands of the classic tree-shaped Royal Pine air fresheners (the larger ones he made himself) into a tree at the corner of Divisadero and Hayes. This clever appropriation of the popular object as a universal symbol of the meeting of “natural artificiality” explores the relationships between humans and their urban environment in a provocative and intoxicating way. The piece is part of the larger “Absolut Open Canvas” project that has consumed the block throughout September 1. Go check it out if you can. Link Here
