redlands residence

project details

Set amid an orange grove and avocado farm, this reimagined 1964 mid-century ranch style home stays true to its roots while introducing a seamless connection to nature. By honoring the home’s original footprint, the redesign retains its original character, enhanced by low-slung rooflines and wood plank siding that blend effortlessly into the surrounding landscape.

Expansive north-facing glass windows frame spectacular views of the San Bernardino National Forest and the iconic San Gorgonio Mountain, filling the home with natural light and improving its energy efficiency. Inside, durable mid-century elements like flagstone and porcelain tile floors complement a working farm lifestyle, while wood ceilings and bright white walls enhance the home’s airy feel. This thoughtful design respects the home’s origins while creating a comfortable, energy-efficient space for a growing young family.
