roam burgers: corte madera

project details

Roam Artisan Burgers is one of San Francisco’s favorite restaurants, known for its diverse selection of burgers crafted with organic, seasonal produce and humanely-raised proteins. Beyond prioritizing exceptional food quality, Roam emphasizes sustainability, community, and a positive environmental impact.

For this remodel, we were tasked with transforming a quirky space that featured a dated kitchen in need of a complete overhaul and a dining room with minimal natural light, hindered by having only one exterior wall. To address this, we maximized the use of that wall by incorporating large panes of glass, flooding the interior with natural light. To complement this, we introduced a modern ice cream “shack” at the building’s facade, allowing Roam to directly serve mall visitors with offerings such as soft-serve ice cream, shakes, and their full menu.

Inside, we embraced Roam’s organic and natural ethos by designing a space that reflects their values. The palette is intentionally honest and grounded, featuring natural plaster walls, leather banquettes, stone countertops, and hickory wood accents. Locally sourced handmade tiles define the bar area, adding a unique touch. Each element was thoughtfully arranged with a precision that mirrors the quality of Roam’s offerings, presenting their ethos not just in their food but also in their architecture.
