Cadet Wine and Beer Bar, a new and welcome addition to the continued revitalization of Downtown Napa, dove into construction at the beginning of May and is speeding towards an early summer opening.

Founder Colleen Fleming wanted to create a warm and inviting neighborhood bar akin to the casual neighborhood bars that you might discover wandering down the alleyways of Paris.

The Franklin Building, tucked back in the intersection of the First Street and Franklin Alleys, provides the perfect venue for Colleens’ vision. With its modern mid-century style, floor to ceiling storefront glass, and simple wood facade, Cadet will be an inviting and pleasant discovery for folks wandering just off of the main retail street of Downtown Napa.

After 6 months of design, drawings, and securing permits, construction is well underway and moving quickly under the direction of ACI General Contractors.  Underground plumbing and utilities are due for completion this week, with installation of the bar framing to follow.

Keep an eye out for more construction updates later this month, and if you happen to be in Downtown Napa in the next few weeks, take a stroll down the First Street Alley past Anette’s Chocolate Factory for a sneak peek!
